This section contains Slope Ratings charts for Dumfries and County. Consult these tables to establish the course handicap you will use for each round of golf. The tables are applicable for both men's and women's Slope Ratings and may be used at any course with a USGA Slope Rating. These tables are also displayed next to the first tee.

Dumfries and County Golf Club is committed to the development of youth in the game of golf. Our membership and programmes are designed to allow the Junior golfer the opportunity to learn, practice, play and enjoy the game of golf. We believe that golf is a game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Our goals are to introduce the game to novices, encourage the development of our more experienced players, and provide enjoyable outings for all participating Junior members.COACHING. Coaching
Report
Currently we offer free introductory lessons to any Junior member aged between 5-12 years old. These classes are aimed to introduce children to the sport. They take place over the winter at Lochar Thistles Indoor arena. Last year 96 children benefited from the classes. The coaching is kindly sponsored by the Stanley Morrison Charitable Trust.
