Welcome to The Old Bridge Inn, Village Pub and Restaurant in Ripponden, just outside Halifax in West Yorkshire. This ancient inn has changed little over the last 700 years. As you approach it over the old packhorse bridge, and enter into this charming, civilised hostelry, there will always be a warm welcome from your third generation hosts Tim and Lindsay Walker and staff.

The Old Bridge Inn dates from 1307, and has been owned by our family since 1963. We care passionately about what we do, and constantly strive to maintain and enhance the ambience of our beautiful pub. The interior is furnished with antiques and a few tasteful prints, real fires in winter adding to the welcome.

Report
Our earliest record of the Old Bridge Inn is from 1307. It was then the home of the early Yeoman Clothier Robert of Brigge of Soland whose descendants built many fine houses in the area, including Somerset House in George Street, Halifax.

The lower bar is of cruck frame construction, whilst the top bar is typical of a very early yeoman clothier's construction complete with outshut, plank and muntin and wattle and daub walls, some later encased in stone.
Drinks
Report
We think you'll struggle to find a pub which gives you as wide a choice of drinks as the 'Bridge. Keeping to our mantra of authenticity though, you won't find alcopops or smooth beers, nor vodka distilled in Warrington. You will find fine ales from truly independent brewers, and genuine imported lagers and drinks from around the world.
