Originally started in the 1980's by Peter Vickers, Altered Image Coachworks is owned and run by car repair and paint specialist, Duncan Edwards. Duncan started his working apprenticeship at Altered Image aged just 16, working alongside Peter before taking a full apprenticeship with Rover group, learning his craft in a manufacturer environment gave Duncan the knowledge and skills required in all aspects of car body repair and repainting.

Our primary objectives are to provide a body repair business that keeps its promises, delivers on time and provides a high level of customer satisfaction. Whilst these objectives should be obvious fundamental grounding for any business, Altered Image Coachworks were disillusioned by just how many repairers were falling short of the mark in these areas.

Keeping a vehicle's paintwork in perfect condition is a time consuming and tricky job. All too often it falls victim to swirls from poor washing techniques, scratches from hedges, etching from bird droppings and even marks caused by acid rain fallout. Removing these blemishes by hand can be incredibly labour intensive and some of these defects cannot be removed without the mechanical intervention of machine polishing.
