Formed in 1932 as Central Garage with Grand-father Edgar Kershaw as proprietor, the company has remained a familiy business to this day. Edgar passed the garage on to Frederick Kershaw who ran it with his sister Mary until the late eighties. On his retirement, the business, now a Limited company was run by Norman Kershaw who was joined by his brother in 1989.

Andrew takes on the largest strip downs, Discovery body-offs being one of his regular large jobs. He is married to Maria and they have a wizard footballing daughter, Connie. Ian served his apprenticeship at Honda, and since joining has become an MOT tester and started on the BDT at Bosch. Ian has also recently been married!

During the MOT, important parts on your vehicle will be checked to make sure they meet the legal standards. You can watch the test from our viewing area (but you're not allowed to interrupt the MOT tester). As well as testing vehicles, we are also able to carry out any vehicle repairs should you have failed the MOT.

Formed in 1932 as Central Garage with Grand Father Edgar Kershaw as proprietor, the company was setup and still is a family owned and operated business to this day. The old Central Garage was located in Conduit Street, now a McDonalds. After playing her part producing munitions during WW2, Mary joins Central Garage to help her younger brother (Fred) run the business.
