The Penn Clinic
We are an established, multidisciplinary clinic providing unique based treatment plans by a team of highly qualified practitioners. The clinic was established over 41 years ago in 1979 by the clinic founder Caroline Penn. The directorship was passed to Alex Bidlake-Corser in 2017 who has been running the clinic since then.

Caroline has now retired and the clinic will continue to be owned and run by Alex and the team. Our aim at The Penn Clinic is not only to treat, restore and improve but to also understand why the problem is happening in the first place to help prevent a repeat problem recurring. We look at the individual's overall lifestyle from exercise, nutrition to general health and wellbeing to get to the root of the issue.

Our Team
Report
Alex took over the directorship of the clinic in 2017 and is very much enjoying her first venture of running a busy clinic. Alex is passionate about research and believes it should under-pin every clinicians' clinical reasoning. She was a member of the Sutherland Cranial College's Research Sub-committee for 2 years.
Osteopathy
Report
Osteopathy specialises in the diagnosis, management, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal and other related disorders. Your osteopath will give you a clear explanation of what they find following their diagnosis and discuss a treatment plan that is suitable for you. They will explain the benefits and any risks of the treatment they are recommending.
Cranial Osteopathy
Report
The term Cranial Osteopathy is a misnomer: it is a name we have inherited. Cranial osteopathy is one of the most gentle approaches to osteopathy and can be applied everywhere and anywhere in the body. The fundamental principle of cranial osteopathy is to allow the body to make its own changes from within and not for the practitioner to impose a prescription of treatment from outside.
Women's Health
Report
We offer a specialist postnatal examination following both vaginal and caesarian deliveries. This assesses how your posture, pelvic floor and stomach muscles are recovering after childbirth. We can provide you with exercises and treatment to help with your recovery. Up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy and up to a third still have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth.
Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Report
Whether it is to rehabilitate from an injury, after surgery or an illness, our osteopaths are here to help you get back on track. Our team is qualified and experienced to offer advice on safe exercise and movement to meet your goals and needs. We understand that when in pain it can be worrying and uncomfortable to exercise.
