Merino Shepherds Hut
A bespoke luxury shepherds hut designed for two adults. Features include an en-suite shower room, Bosch appliances, smart TV, and a glass roof panel for stargazing. Guests enjoy private garden access, a hot tub, and use of five-star facilities like the indoor pool and sauna. Perfect for romantic short breaks in a secluded setting.
Indoor Swimming Pool
A 10m x 5m indoor heated pool open daily from 8am-8pm. The facility includes a Finnish sauna, shower areas, and wheelchair access. The vaulted ceiling and oak beams create an airy atmosphere, while computer-controlled systems maintain comfortable temperature and humidity. Suitable for all ages with dedicated toddler play sessions.
Adventure Playground
Located at the top of the orchard, this playground features swings, slides, and climbing frames surrounded by natural scenery. This place is fantastic. If you like peace and quiet, and simply want to kick back and chill out for a while. The beautiful village of Winkleigh is close by. Each cottage has a hot tub, we stayed in the Shepherds Hut with its woodburner and drop down bed, best night's sleep I've had in a long time. Loved it!

Weve just got back from a 2 night stay at the Merino Shepherds Hut and all I can say is...Wow!! The attention to detail is amazing and everything has been well thought of, from the scones on arrival to the beautiful fresh pastries the following morning. A lovely quiet spot with amazing views, especially whilst relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. Nothing was too much for Simon, very helpful and very friendly. Thank you to Simon and Clare for a lovely stay. Well definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at South Coombe Farm. The cottage was beautifully done up and the private garden with views over the Devon countryside was a really lovely place to eat our meals. Our daughter really enjoyed use of the pool, toddler room and all the animals. The fresh eggs, bread and pastries in the morning were a real treat! The cottage is perfectly located to explore both North and South Devon. We will definitely be back!

The location of this hut is placed perfectly to allow you to take in the beautiful scenery of the countryside. The sheep and alpacas make great neighbours, and are quite soothing to watch especially from the hot tub. The sheltered area with bbq is lovely too and a fire pit that means you can sit out in the evening till late. The hut it self was just adorable with the greatest attention to detail.
Kitchen is small so don't plan to cook elaborate meals as there is a 2 ring hob, no microwave or oven. There is a pullout bed that comes out after collapsing the table, very clever. And here there is

Had a great time at South Coombe Farm, in spite of the weather (typical British). Our cottage was very well maintained, we loved living on the farm surrounded by animals. A huge extra point - a swimming pool we had 2 hours a day to ourselves only!
