Alan Little founded Alexander James in 1979. An accomplished tailor and cutter, born in Lancashire, the textile heartland of England, he had a passion for form and fit in clothes. He chose sporting wear to prove his skills, deciding to specialise in riding, hunting and shooting, where tradition rules.
He knew this was where his hand tailoring, combined with the best cloths, would be quickly recognised. He was right.
