Services
Beach School Programme
Our Beach School at Severn Beach offers hands-on learning through coastal exploration. Children engage in ecological investigations, creative construction, and physical development activities while building understanding of natural environments. The programme follows Forest School principles adapted for seaside settings, supporting curriculum objectives through experiential learning. Regular sessions include fire safety education, den building, and marine life observation.
Early Years Education
We deliver tailored early years education following the EYFS framework. Our base rooms cater to different developmental stages, offering age-appropriate resources and activities. Staff focus on individual learning journeys through skilful interactions and observation-based planning. The curriculum integrates creative play, literacy development, and foundational numeracy skills in a secure, stimulating environment.
Nutritious Meal Provision
Our trained chef prepares fresh, balanced meals daily using locally sourced ingredients. Menus include organic meat from Somerset farms and seasonal produce from Bristol suppliers. We accommodate dietary requirements with individual meal plans while promoting healthy eating habits. Cultural diversity is reflected through varied flavour profiles and traditional dishes from different cuisines.
Parental Engagement
We maintain open communication through daily updates and formal parent evenings. Parents can sample nursery meals prepared by our chef and discuss their child's progress with key workers. Our team provides guidance on home learning activities and developmental milestones. We encourage family participation in special events and environmental projects throughout the year.
Forest School Activities
Our outdoor learning extends beyond Beach School to include woodland adventures and natural environment exploration. Children develop resilience and creativity through supervised risk-taking, tool use, and habitat studies. The programme builds physical coordination, environmental awareness, and collaborative problem-solving skills in forest and meadow settings.

Woodlands is fantastic. They are so much more than just a childcare provider. It really does feel like joining a happy family, all the children love it there. The grown-ups make a huge effort to make every child feel at home, and really encourage each individual child's interests. When I drop off my two boys before work I feel confident that they are in a loving, kind, nurturing environment all day.
