Food was average. We weren’t offered a glass of champagne with our afternoon tea. I have a had better. I found it to be over priced and I was very underwhelmed. The scones were a little dry and we received a rude comment about whether or not we had actually booked when we arrived. I would say that I was nicely surprise when they brought a small platter with a writing of happy birthday in chocolate sauce as it was a special occasion but as we had asked for the bill prior to this in order to get back to the car in time (for which we had to pay for) we then received a parking fine of 100 pounds

A really nice boutique hotel. Located by the River Stour, which was interesting as we watched it burst its banks this weekend 😂 Fortunately, the car park is on raised ground behind the hotel. So what made this hotel for us were the lovely staff. They worked so well as a team and gave great service. The rooms were lovely, all facing the river with big windows that opened. The rooms were well appointed with a comfy bed and a big clean bathroom. Shame the shower wasn't a proper shower but a clipped up hand hose but no big deal. Food was lovely. Slightly wider range in the bar area. The hotel wasn

Had an afternoon tea here today and while the food was fine, that’s all it was… fine. The sandwiches were a little dry - like they had been left out all day. The scones were dry. The little selection of sweet treats reminded me of defrosted ‘why mums go to Iceland’ specials. It was all just a bit… meh?
The restaurant is lovely and so is the view but paying for car park at a restaurant, along with staff that really didn’t give that ‘high end’ feel - I won’t be rushing back. For somewhere that labels itself as ‘high end’ - it wasn’t. It was just… fine.

A memorable experience. The food was authentic, tender, flavourful, succulent, perfect. All staff were very welcoming. Attended every need with care, precision and with haste. A beautiful apartment room with an equal view. The decor was designed with the he view in mind, a floor to ceiling wall window onto the lake and before it, a clear glass dinning table so we can watch the boats go by while enjoying a banquet breakfast.
I simply cannot praise this pocket of heaven enough. Furthermore I can't wait to share this experience again.

All I can say is… what an incredible place. With Covid still about, a 2 day vacation in this hotel was amazing. Having one of the apartments, there was an amazing view across the river. Bar staff were great and very attentive and even letting you sample some of the variety of beers they supply. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was great. Lovely bar for a few drinks before heading in for your dinner. Looking forward to returning 😀

Having been regular visitors using the restaurant over the last 11 years, and been extremely impressed on every visit, we were pleased to get a voucher given to us for afternoon tea. Sadly, the restaurant experience did not reflect on the afternoon tea.
We arrived at 1645- our booked time- and were shown to a table. We were given a menu, and the waiter returned around 5 minutes later to confirm our booking, and clarify our requirements. We ordered our afternoon tea, and waited.........35 minutes later, it arrived, no excuses were given for the delay. The afternoon tea was very pleasant, however
