About Me
Report
I became interested in osteopathy having developed my own neck and shoulder problems causing me pain, sleepless nights, time off work and left me unable to participate in activities I enjoyed. A friend recommended I visit an osteopath and I was amazed by how much-improved mobility and pain relief I experienced following a hands-on, osteopathic treatment.
What is Osteopathy
Report
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. Osteopaths approach each patient as an individual and consider how their structure, function, body systems and life factors have influenced each complaint.
Osteopaths work to restore function within the body by utilising a wide range of hands-on techniques, aiming to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tensions and increase blood flow and nerve supply to soft tissues. We also provide home exercise and health advice, aiding recovery and preventing symptoms reoccurring.

Arthritis
Report
Osteoarthritis (spondylosis) is the most common type of arthritis treated within my clinic. Osteoarthritis (OA) is associated with poor biomechanics, obesity, previous joint injuries and rheumatic diseases including, rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. Osteoarthritis affects the cartilage within each joint leading to a loss of joint space, new bone formation and may cause nerve irritation.
Back Pain
Report
Lower back pain is the symptom for which the highest number of patients consult osteopaths. Guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), recommend the use of manual therapy for managing lower back pain and osteoarthritis, as part of a treatment plan which includes exercise.
Cramps
Report
Pain from muscle cramps can range from being a mild nuisance to incapacitating, and can keep us awake at night. Cramps occur when muscles involuntarily shorten, they commonly affect the calf and foot and can last from seconds up to ten minutes. Cramps are associated with poor circulation, mineral deficiency, dehydration, pregnancy and types of medication such as statins.
