In our workshop we can produce any frame, in any size, from a simple off-the-shelf frame to a large ornate oil or mirror frame.
We stock an extensive range of standard pre-finished and plain wood mouldings. We will help you choose a finish to complement your artwork and show it at its best. Prices can vary considerably between size and type of finish, so please ask for a quotation.

Hand Finished Frames

We have a reputation for producing the highest quality hand-finished, water-gilded frames for artists and art collectors. Gesso and bole-washed frames represent a high proportion of our output, and our client base is nationwide.
We use a variety of gold leaf finishes, including standard 24 carat gold, 22 carat moon gold, white gold, palladium gold and an interesting selection of coloured golds, together with a wide selection of imitation metal gold leaf.Final bole colour washes are carefully layered in subtle tones onto a prepared gesso base, then gilded, distressed and burnished to achieve a beautiful bespoke finish.

Conservation & Restoration

Conservation is very important in all our work. We only use the best materials to achieve quality results: Neutral pH barrier backing and mounts and cotton core/solid core rag boards between artwork to protect against acid attack over a period of time. Mulberry hinges and rebate liners are also used depending on the level protection required.
Tapestries & Sports Shirts
Report
We will make up a stretcher to fit your canvas with crossbar supports if required and carefully stretch your painting onto it. Linen and other materials can also be stretched onto a frame. Tapestries and cushion covers can be stretched and sewn onto conservation-grade board to hold their shape for display.
