Over lunch at the local steelworks some 35 years ago, Andrew Dabill and Christopher Lloyd discussed the mutual need for a change in direction. Having previously discussed a gap in the market for a service that provided good quality fencing, Andrew and Christopher found their new venture! Hillsborough Fencing was born and has gone from strength to strength since.
Being family men, their sons later followed them into the business. Constantly evolving, and supplying to both private and commercial contracts, Hillsborough Fencing needed to move to a new purpose-built premises on Livesey Street, Sheffield. These new premises include a large shop, wood yard housing a large variety of fencing panels, gates, sheds and timber.

5 Bar Gates
Report
All our 5 bar Entrance gates are softwood, made from a 5ths kiln dried Redwood. These do require treatment before fitting and annually during their life. We would recommend and good quality solvent or Oil based treatment, suitable for external use. The hanging style and top rail are made from 100mm x 75mm timbers, and the Shutting style is made from 75mm x 75mm.
Driveway Gates

Our Mortice and Tennon Driveway gates are all made to measure, and are available in a range of styles:. The gates are made using a 100mm x 50mm framework, with the rear braces made of 100mm x 38mm kiln dried 5th Redwood. These are half morticed and fitted together using external glue and pins. The frame is then re-bated and a tongue and groove inlay is fitted.
