Rhythm & Shoes Dance Academy

In our Pre-school classes students begin to learn the basics of both styles. In this class we use lots of props as well as relevant and familiar songs that children know. Parents/Carers are encouraged to stay for this class because it's always hugely rewarding to watch your little one master new skills and make new friends.

Our stage classes are a great way to develop a variety of skills associated with dance. These classes combine both tap & modern jazz styles of dance. In tap, pupils are taught a blend of tap, rhythm and musical technique as well as looking at elements of musical theatre. Our teachers attend many professional workshops ensuring that all classes encompass the latest techniques and most up to date knowledge.

Have you been inspired by groups like Diversity, if so Street is the style for you. Both Street and Freestyle use popular current music and are a great way of learning impressive new moves! In recent years there has been a growing trend for Street Dance which is an umbrella term for lots of different styles including: Hip Hop, House, and Break.

Acrobatic Gymnastics is a great form of exercise improving core fitness, strength, stamina and flexibility. Pupils begin by learning the basics of balance and coordination as well as mastering the basics of floor work and tumbling. As pupils progress through the grades the complexity of the skills also develops.

Contemporary Dance is an expressive form of dance incorporating elements of other styles including Ballet and Modern Jazz. We work closely with local schools ensuring that our pupils achieve their best possible grade for their work. Students within these classes learn about major influencers in the world of Contemporary dance.
