Services
Clinics & Services
Report
Your appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work. Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
New Patients
Report
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient. You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months.
Summary Care Record
Report
Storing information in one place makes it easier for healthcare staff to treat you in an emergency, or when your GP practice is closed. This information could make a difference to how a doctor decides to care for you, for example which medicines they choose to prescribe for you. No, it is not compulsory.
Family Health
Report
Having an ill child can be a very scary experience for parents. If you understand more about the illness it can help you to feel more in control. This booklet is for parents (and older children) and deals with common infections in children who are normally healthy. There is a good guide on the NHS website which describes various conditions affecting children.
Long Term Conditions
Report
This factsheet is for people who have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or who would like information about it. These links all come from trusted resources but if you are unsure about these or any other medical matters please contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Diabetes is a long-term (chronic) condition caused by too much glucose (sugar) in the blood.
