Established in 1978, award-winning David R White is a family-run building and construction company based in Weymouth and offers a full range of services throughout the South of England and the West Country. The company employs and has access to skilled operatives in all aspects of the construction industry.

We have a strong working relationship with several local architectural companies, structural engineers, local authorities and schools. We are CDM-approved contractors with Altius and Safecontractor, leading health and safety consultancies and employ Peninsula Business Services to support our company.

Our team of project managers/site foremen look after a range of projects from small works and response maintenance calls to planned large-scale projects up to the value of 750,000. The commercial projects can involve the management of other specialist subcontractors within a project. This can be ideal when a client wishes to use one contractor to look after a number of elements of works.

The main part of the Village Hall was built in the 1920s and since then has been largely unchanged. In 2015 it was decided that the asbestos roof was very close to the end of its life and would need replacing. Sounds simple, but not so, as the structure was designed for the light weight asbestos and not for something safer and heavier.
