The Royal Signals Museum moved from Catterick, the former home of The Royal Signals, to Blandford Camp in 1967. Following a successful appeal launched in 1989 to raise over 1 million, a new wing was constructed and refurbished displays implemented. The Royal Signals Museum houses the national collection of military communications equipment.

There is an access ramp at the front entrance to the Museum and a lift between lower and upper levels. There are toilets and toilets for the disabled. If you require any additional access arrangements or help with your visit please Contact us. The Cafe is open: Weekdays 1000 - 1530 Weekends 11am - 1pm but hours are subject to change at very short notice.

We have a comprehensive archive and library specifically about The Royal Signals, its antecedents and the history of Army signalling. In addition to individual research and archive requests, we can assist with academic research, press and media requirements - including those for TV, documentaries and other specialist needs.

Variants of the FV 603 model included radio or command fitments and specialist equipment for Signals use. Who knows, you may even see some of the regular soldiers who often drop by for a quick brew. The museum is proud to have Monty's ACV among its very many attractions. Field Marshall Montgomery's command included the famous Battle of El Alamein, a turning point in the Western Desert Campaign.
