We service, clean and restore many older watches, so wherever possible we will look after your vintage/antique timepiece, and are often able to source or make parts for these older pieces. As well as servicing the movement, we can offer case, dial and hand restoration or replacement.
We are also able to advise on the value of the timepiece and viability of the work to be undertaken, as often the sentimental value of an item may outweigh the actual intrinsic value.

Repairs

John Gowing Jewellers service and repair vintage and modern watches, including full dial restoration where required. If you are unsure of the value of your watch we can advise you on the economic viability of the repair before proceeding. We service all quality watch brands, including Rolex and are an Official Omega Service Reception.
Servicing

A speciality of ours, we undertake servicing and overhaul of all makes and model of wrist and pocket watches, including vintage items. We have a fully accredited Rolex trained watchmaker, and can service all Rolex models which includes a full refurbishment of the case and bracelet; subject to any parts requirements we are usually able to complete this service, to Rolex standard and fully guaranteed, within 2-3 weeks.

John Gowing Jewellers offer a full professional battery replacement service for a variety of makes and models of watch. We also have a pressure testing facility on site to ensure the integrity of your water resistant watch where appropriate. Over 95% of this work is carried out in house, usually within the hour.
Straps

John Gowing Jewellers carry an extensive range of replacement watch straps, including high quality leather varieties in a range of colours, sizes and styles. We can also make alterations to watch bracelets, removing links where required. Stockists of the fabulous Italian "Puccini" leather range, as supplied to Breitling and Patek Philippe.
