Former builder turned cafe owner with over 25 years' experience in development projects. Took ownership of Coast Cafe Worthing in 2023 after working on its expansion. Combines hospitality expertise with construction knowledge to maintain the venue's unique character while improving facilities for customers.
Steff Sykes
Founder
Urban redevelopment visionary responsible for transforming East Beach through creative projects like the Artist Studios and beach volleyball courts. Established Coast Cafe Worthing as a community hub in the early 2000s, focusing on artistic collaboration and local engagement before selling to continue new ventures.

What are Coast Cafe Worthing's opening hours?
We're open Monday 9am-3pm, Thursday 9am-3pm, Friday 9am-10pm, Saturday 9am-late, Sunday 9am-4pm. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays except for occasional evening events.
Can I book a table for events or meals?
We don't accept reservations – all seating is available on a first-come basis to maintain our relaxed, spontaneous atmosphere.
Does the cafe cater for special dietary requirements?
Our menu includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Our chefs can accommodate many dietary needs when informed at ordering time.
Is the venue suitable for families with children?
Yes, we welcome families with a dedicated kids' menu, nearby play areas, and a relaxed environment where children can enjoy the coastal setting safely.

We accept major credit/debit cards and contactless payments. Cash is also accepted at our Worthing beachfront location.

Incredible location especially on a sunny day. But it's just so expensive. 4.50 for some frozen oven chips with cheese on is madness. I'd expect to pay that at a festival.

Nice caf, had a lovely hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Dogs allowed in, actually makes for a nice atmosphere. Lovely place, would recommend.

Loved it here, beautiful spot and a great selection of food and drink with some interesting veggie/vegan options. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the place is very dog friendly. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Been here several times and it is clean and pleasant, but tepid coffee. If you ask for it to be extra hot it's barely lukewarm (below marshmallow melting temperature) and they only offer to reheat, not remake or refund, even if you ask politely.
Waitress was offended by the request, seemed to take it rather personally. I would have been happy for it to be reheated if it didn't have heat sensitive components that would spoil (marshmallows and whipped cream). Left 8.80 down and with a sour taste in my mouth - unfortunate.

Love this particular venue. A Bohemian ambience and friendly atmosphere. The service is very good and polite. The ladies were obliged to serve and I had a friendly chat with the owner who has a great knowledge of music. As well as knowledge of how to run a great seaside caf/restaurant. Toilets are extremely clean and hand drier in good working order.

There were two bar staff for a private function where they were aware of numbers well in advance. The wait to get served at one point was well over 10 minutes. It was absolutely freezing in there. Considering the cost and add the huge amount of money spent on drinks, I was not impressed with what was provided
