Established in the early 1930s, J R Adams has evolved from a horse-and-cart operation into one of the largest mixed fleets in the Tyne and Wear area. Our history spans generations, with the current leadership representing the third generation of the Adams family. We operate 50 vehicles, including specialist trailers, hiab vehicles, and curtain-sided units, serving clients across the UK. Our commitment to quality is evidenced by ISO9001 accreditation and a modern fleet equipped with tracking and telematics systems. We offer comprehensive haulage solutions, from one-off loads to full warehousing and distribution services.

Our 16-acre Swalwell site and 5-acre Byker site provide 260,000 sq ft of internal storage and 200,000 sq ft of external space. We maintain vehicles in-house and operate an approved DVSA Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) with drive-through convenience. Our team of ADR-trained drivers handles hazardous goods and abnormal loads, ensuring compliance with Crossrail and FORS standards. Safety is prioritised through forward-facing cameras and audible warning systems on all vehicles.
