Just 25 minutes from King's Cross, Highgate is a superb, testing and enjoyable 18-hole course set in an island of tranquility, overlooking North London. Highgate's undulating parkland layout rewards creativity and shot-making and provides a fair challenge for golfers of all abilities. Though only 6,033 yards from the back tees, the course provides a stern test, requiring a balance of risk and reward.
We expect the average round of golf at Highgate to take only a little over three hours but the compact layout also provides flexibility for a few holes before work or nine and a drink on the terrace on a lovely summer's evening. Who'd have thought such sanctuary could be found only 40 minutes from Charing Cross, Bank and Green Park Stations.

Course Overview
Report
Established in 1904, this leafy, parkland course was designed by C.S. Butchart on 83 acres of land that had been part of the hunting estate of the Bishops of London. Though it retains many of its original features, the course layout was fundamentally changed in 1928, when the Metropolitan Water Board built the Bishopswood Reservoir beneath what are, now, the 10th and 13th holes.
Starting Times
Report
One of the many joys of golf at Highgate, is that we have tee times only for our bigger competitions. For the most part, you play your golf when you are ready, and it's rare that you have to wait on the tee. However, to ensure that those playing 2 ball golf are not held up by 3 and 4 balls, we ask that players observe the starting times, below, and to maintain a reasonable pace of play.
Visitor Information
Report
Visitors are welcomed at the Club, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 11am and 12 noon in two balls and from 2pm - 3pm in four balls. All visitors must check in with the Professional on arrival and adhere to the Club's dress code. Visitors must hold a valid WHS handicap. All visitors will be required to show a handicap certificate when checking in, and provide contact details.
Dress Code
Report
Our dress code is not meant to be prescriptive but to enable everyone to co-exist in a tranquil and convivial atmosphere. We ask that members and visitors observe this and respect the opinions of others. Non-golfing sports and leisurewear, such as tracksuits, running or cycling shorts or beachwear are not appropriate anywhere within the Club.
Being a Member
Report
Widely regarded as the premier golf club in North London, the Club puts the interests of its members at the forefront in every decision we take. As a result, Highgate's membership is buoyant and the Club has a waiting list. We are the closest 18-hole golf course to central London, with journey times, on public transport, of 45 minutes from Charing Cross, Moorgate and Green Park.
