Founded in 1991, we offer exceptional childcare for babies, toddlers and preschooler's from six months up to five years in a fun, stimulating learning environment. Our nursery building has been specifically designed with children in mind, complete with a purpose built preschool.
We have four bright and modern age specific play rooms and our nursery boasts a large outdoor area with plenty of outdoor space allowing the children lots of room to explore their outdoor learning environment.Our rooms are resourced with age appropriate items such as arts & crafts, sand and water play, book corners, role play and sensory resources which provide a stimulating environment.

I joined First Steps in 2016, having worked in the childcare sector for 25 years, holding a foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies. Having had three children, I have first-hand experience of the joys of early childhood. I enjoy my job immensely and no two days are the same; I look forward to seeing the children engaged and motivated in their daily activities.

All Inclusive Activities

As well as the EYFS curriculum, we offer a wealth of additional activities for our little ones. The children enjoy weekly music and movement sessions, mini chef's cooking, sing and sign and treasure baskets. We also take the toddlers and pre-schoolers on short excursions to local places of interest to explore the world outside nursery.
30 Hours

First Steps Nursery are pleased to offer up to 30 hours funded childcare for all 3 and 4 year olds for eligible working families. If eligible for up to 30 hours government funding you may be entitled to up to 1,140 hours per year. Eligible parents will be able to access up to 30 funded hours from the beginning of the term following your child's 3rd birthday.

At First Steps your child will explore a new exciting environment, make new friends, have adventures and learn as they go along on their journey through the nursery. We realise that whether you are coming to the nursery for the first time or transferring from another setting, it is a significant transition for you and your child, and one that needs to be handled with care and sensitivity.
