JV Tree Services is a family run business established in 1983 and was started by the current proprietor. The business has always been family run and always will be, with the addition of local highly qualified employees. It all began due to caring out of woodland management throughout the Vale of Glamorgan to remove all dead elms due to disease (Dutch elm disease) which struck in late 70's early 80's.
Over the last two decades the business has been heavily involved as a main contractor for the removal of dangerous trees and vegetation for the British rail system and also local authorities.

Dangerous Tree Work is what we specialise in! The removal of these trees in dangerous situations. This includes over hanging trees, dead trees, damaged trees or trees which are within close proximity to buildings, roads or utilities. These trees have usually failed due to natural decay and rot. Tree pruning involves selective removal of parts of the tree, it is simply general maintenance of the tree.

All logs come as a standard length of 10 - if shorter or longer are required please let us know. All firewood is locally sourced from sustainable welsh woodlands. Trade prices available Please enquire. A minimal percentage of our firewood is from tree work which we have carried out, which in turn takes waste wood and turns it into useable fuel.
Woodland Management
Report
Woodland Thinning is one of our most common operations undertaken and also one of our favourite! This involves the removal of weak and inferior timber to create more light around the canopy of the remaining trees to enhance future growth of the remaining trees. Without the thinning taking place the woodland could become stagnant and stay dormant with very little growth to the trees.
