Over the past 5 days I've hired 2 Vans from Currie Motors. They're not necessarily the cheapest price but neither are they the most expensive and I have been impressed by their efficient and friendly service. It's always worth taking out the optional 30 odd quid insurance to reduce the amount of excess of 1200 and bring it to 150... though why it's such a high amount is slightly puzzling...but this practice occurs throughout the car/van hire business, unless it's to make customers who are not keen on the gamble simply pay out more cash to the insurance industry and the hirers probably get a
