Established in the early 1980s, Clovelly Lakes has evolved from a vision of transforming overgrown land into a premier family holiday destination. Our dedication to creating a tranquil retreat began with the construction of our first fishing lake, followed by the introduction of timber lodges in the 1990s. Under the stewardship of founder Peter Symons and now led by his daughter Claire and son Adam, we have expanded to offer 19 lodges and six spring-fed lakes teeming with diverse fish species. Holiday Lodges
Our 19 luxury lodges accommodate 2-12 guests with modern amenities including fully equipped kitchens, smart TVs, and private verandas. Some feature hot tubs, laundry facilities, and EV charging points. All lodges provide comfortable bedding, towels, and fishing access, with select units offering lakeside views and secluded woodland settings.
Fishing Lakes
Six spring-fed lakes stocked with mirror carp (up to 34lbs), common carp, tench, bream, perch, and roach. Lakes vary in difficulty, with exclusive hire options available. All lakes have car-accessible swims and otter fencing. Regular stock management ensures optimal fish health and angler success rates across diverse species.
Pet-Friendly Stays
All lodges welcome pets with dedicated facilities including woodland trails, stream access, and secure outdoor areas. Dogs must be kept under control, not left unattended, and are prohibited from furniture. On-site pet waste stations and cleaning protocols ensure a comfortable environment for all guests.
Hot Tub Lodges
Select six-person lodges include private hot tubs with lake views. These two-storey units feature open-plan living, three bedrooms, and modern bathrooms. Hot tubs are maintained daily and available year-round, offering relaxation after fishing trips or family adventures in North Devon's countryside.
Exclusive Lake Hire
A dedicated private lake available for 48-hour minimum hire, fully otter-fenced with specimen carp stocks. Ideal for serious anglers seeking uninterrupted sessions. Includes exclusive parking access and on-site support for equipment setup and fish handling during your reserved period.

Lovely accommodation for our family holiday. Well equipped lodges and cooking equipment that would cater for 4. Onsite manager, Claire was always very helpful, lovely place for a break from lockdown life

Tranquil & private setting, lovely cosy accommodation. My son aged 13 really enjoyed the fishing. Located really close to Clovelly village which was a lovely trip out. A particular favourite part of the holiday was going to p thd local farm vending machine to get fresh milk and a milkshake. (6 minute drive away)
