Great experience so far after just one night stay. Perfect host with attention to the details. Food is great and the chef is rightly talented. We are considering to become a regular guest. The views are amazing. The weather in winter is mild and nice. The sound of river is like a music in your ears. We kept the window open during the night. My 4-year son specifically slept very well.

Our room on second floor was a very small dingy attic , old worn furniture, the bed was old and unstable with noisy springs ,on complaining I was told nothing could be done as hotel was fully booked so couldnt change rooms. carpet old and stained, the bath plastic , the shower attachment rubbish, shower curtain should be glass panel, floor tiles cracked. The evening meals not much choice same menus for all six nights. The dining room staff were very good. For the price charged this was not a good experience not a four star hotel. We would not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful setting, very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Loved Mark's personality. Beautiful area. Yes hotel has character therefore not all 'mod cons' and pristine decor - we like hotels with charm and history.
Fabulous breakfast.

Absolutely furious .. we paid 240 for a superior family room, they took us to a room they had made up outside and around the corner from the hotel room *** 1 beware *** it was next to the maids washing room which smelt strongly as did our room it stunk of bleach as soon as you walked through the door and it was very run down and tacky 80 would of been ok to pay for the night tops..it was nothing like the pictures they had advertised on booking.com (not there fault they were great) upon arrival we were told the restaurant was fully booked as they let people from around the area book leaving

Hidden gem. Lived in the area my entire life and didn't know about this until a couple of days ago! Popped in for a quick drink. What a beautiful terrace to relax with a drink. Stunning.

Just held our sons Christening afternoon tea here. Absolutely amazing location with stunning scenery and backdrop for our photos. Food and cake selection was excellent and plentiful. The staff helped make the day, and were very attentive throughout. The room was laid out lovely with food/drink served quickly. Would like to say a big thank you to all involved. Hghly recommend an afternoon visit for food and drink or stay for a weekends retreat to make the most of the beautifully kept grounds and views.

A wonderful idyllic setting. Tranquil, & just what we were after. The service was very good. We dined at the hotel both evenings we were there. Good menu choices available. Ours were cooked to perfection. Will most certainly come back.
