Cooden Beach Golf Club offers a warm welcome to new members and encourages applications to join. Cooden Beach Golf Club's course was designed by W. Herbert Fowler and opened in 1912 and to this day remains an enjoyable yet challenging test to all categories of player. While the course measures a good 6,504 yards at its furthest, it offers a more sedate 6,185 yards from the yellow tee boxes, with five par three holes and a matching five par fives.
It provides an easy walk round with the gentle undulations and springy turf making play enjoyable for all ages. Natural drainage is provided by internal and external dykes that border many of the holes but these also act as a magnet to the errant shot that flirts with the changing coastal breezes which remain the true hazard.

The course is a great test of your golfing skills, playing conditions can change day to day due to its close proximity to the sea. The course has dykes, ponds and strategically placed bunkers to catch a wayward shot. Nine holes exceed 400 yards and present a different challenge from which ever tee you chose to play from.
Course Tour
Report
This is certainly a challenging opening hole made especially demanding against a prevailing south-westerly wind though considerably easier with a following easterly. Whilst the old yellow tee (mainly used in the winter months) provides a straight hit at the hole the main white and yellow tee blocks are set at an angle turning it into a gentle dogleg.
