Station House Nursery was founded in April 2005 with a vision to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Our approach prioritises child-centred learning, fostering curiosity and exploration through meaningful interactions. With a dedicated team of qualified professionals, we maintain a warm, home-from-home atmosphere that prioritises safety and emotional well-being. The nursery's heritage as a former railway station master's residence adds unique character to our purpose-built facilities. We actively engage parents through regular communication and transparent practices, valuing their insights in supporting each child's development. Our commitment to continuous improvement drives our adoption of innovative educational approaches like the Curiosity Approach and In the Moment Planning. We measure success through the positive feedback from families and the strong community we've built over nearly two decades of service.

Trained caregivers follow individual routines for feeding, sleeping, and development while promoting early milestones through play-based learning. The space features age-appropriate resources and designated quiet areas for rest and bonding.
Toddler Unit
Designed for 2-3 year olds, our Toddler Unit balances structured activities with free exploration to support emerging independence. Staff facilitate social skills development through group play while maintaining a safe environment for physical growth. The curriculum introduces early literacy and numeracy concepts through engaging, hands-on experiences.
Pre-School Unit
Our Pre-School Unit prepares 3-5 year olds for formal education through a blend of child-led and adult-guided learning. The space offers designated areas for creative arts, construction, and literacy development. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework while incorporating the Curiosity Approach to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Outdoor Learning
The Great Outdoors provision supports holistic development through natural exploration and physical challenges. Children access age-appropriate play equipment, gardening areas, and sensory trails that promote motor skills and environmental awareness. Outdoor sessions occur daily with weather-appropriate clothing provisions for all seasons.
Flexible Sessions
We offer adaptable childcare solutions including full-day, half-day, and term-time-only options. Parents can arrange ad-hoc sessions subject to availability while maintaining core attendance patterns. Our approach accommodates shift workers and varying family schedules without minimum session requirements, prioritising each child's settling-in process.
