Salter Heating Services began as a family company in the late 1970s, concentrating on plumbing, boiler and central heating system installations. Although based in Chepstow, we were soon working across the old county of Gwent and the Forest of Dean. Upper Nelson Street in Chepstow became our first premises and as our workforce grew we moved homes, with several stops around Station Road and School Hill.
As the 1980s handed over to the 1990s we started using our expertise to design and install bathrooms, fires, surrounds and stoves. We launched our showroom Classic Fires and Bathrooms, at 6 Station Road, Chepstow and are still there today. In 2006 we opened our outlet Classic Stoves in Chepstow Garden Centre, with a select range of contemporary and traditional designs from quality manufacturers.

Services
Our Station road showroom is now back to normal opening hours which is 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4:30pm on a Friday and 9am to 12:30pm on Saturdays. We would ask that customers ensure they wear face masks and use the hand sanitiser provided when visiting our showrooms. All of the above times and openings are subject to further guidance from the Welsh Government and are subject to change.

For larger works our free, no-obligation on-site quotations are offered during working hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

A customer had moved in to a new property and asked us to quote for a new central heating system. From the initial survey we found an antiquated oil boiler which failed to comply with regulations and was also very inefficient. The system also had an oil tank in the integrity of the building which was a huge fire risk.

Our engineers are qualified through OFTEC, Gas Safe and HETAS to work with oil, gas, LPG and solid fuel. Many of our engineers have been with us since their apprenticeships and are experienced tradesmen who receive regular training. Our team can service oil, gas, LPG and solid fuel boilers and central heating systems, plus solar heating systems.
Plumbing

We offer all aspects of plumbing works, from kitchen taps, plumbing-in dishwashers or washing machines and those pesky leaks, to full bathroom and kitchen installations. We also carry out related works such as plastering, tiling and under-floor heating, plus plumbing with any building work.
Bookings for call outs are given an AM (8am - midday) or PM (midday - 5pm) slot; due to the unpredictable nature of system breakdowns we can't give specific appointment times although we try to be as flexible as possible.Our free, no-obligation quotations for large works are offered during working hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
