Artemis Nursery

Artemis Nursery was established in 2007. It was initially located in St Leonards, but due to its success and considerable increase in numbers, has expanded to encompass a further two sites, one in Hastings and more recently a site in Hollington. Artemis Nursery is a family nursery, being both run and owned by Emma Buggy and her brother and sister in law Dominic and Lee.

At Artemis, children in our care are happy, nurtured and encouraged to develop. We want to ensure that every child leaves us with a stimulated and enquiring mind and with lots of confidence in their own abilities. We aim to achieve this by providing a structure for learning where children explore, experiment, play and make decisions for themselves, thus enabling them to progress and be fully equipped for future schooling.

At Artemis Nurseries we believe that we can best meet the needs of individual children by working closely with parents. We aim to develop partnerships between parents and staff which are based on mutual trust and respect and which promote the sharing of information and knowledge for the benefit of the children in our care.

At Artemis, we choose our staff for their ability to provide the optimum care and dedication to your child to the exacting standards you would expect as a parent. We believe that the most important factor in terms of children's education and performance is the quality of teaching and staff who interact with the children.

We base all our planning on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which feeds back into the KS1 National Curriculum. The early years foundation stage is how the government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and the age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success.
