At Meridian Golf Tours we assist clients with every aspect of their Luxury Scotland Golf Vacation until their golf package fulfills their requirements. The most restrictive of these to play is Muirfield, Royal Troon, and the Old Course St Andrews. The Championship course at Carnoustie on the east coast and the Ailsa course at Turnberry on the west coast of Scotland both offer a great experience and are not as restrictive.

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club is rated as one of the very best golf courses in Scotland. It was founded in 1780, making Royal Aberdeen the sixth oldest golf club in the world. Archie & Robert Simpson from Carnoustie created the course which was later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid. The Balgownie Course is a true classic links layout with the front 9 holes going out through the sand dunes whilst the back nine holes are along a plateau.

Dunbar Golf Club is located on the eastern end of Scotland's Golf Coast which boasts magnificent golf courses such as Murfield, Gullane, North Berwick, and Craigielaw. Dunbar, established in 1856 is an Open Championship Final Qualifying venue. Not overly long at 6,500 yards, it lies yards from the rocky shoreline and has well-defined holes that follow the natural contours of the narrow strip of land that lies between the shoreline and Deer Park.

These are all in the "Must Play Scotland Golf Courses" especially for the first-time visitor. Returning golfers often look to include some of the best golf courses in Scotland that we call "Hidden Gems".
