We are very proud of our outstanding team at Overton Preschool Playgroup. All of our keypersons are parents of children who have attended the Playgroup and work at both settings, moving around each year. She has an NNEB and NVQ IV qualification in Childcare and Education. Amanda manages both the settings, and is very much involved in the daily planning of the settings.
She is very passionate about early years education. Linda is the Room Leader at the Playgroup Setting at the Community Centre. Linda holds an NVQ III in Childcare and Education, and joined our team in 2008, after being a member of the Parent Management Committee. Linda has the additional responsibility of Birth to Three Co-ordinator.

Our two settings
Report
Overton Preschool Playgroup is unique in that it offers two different settings for the children, each providing different experiences and opportunities but very much working as one. All children are welcome to attend the Playgroup based at the Community Centre, and children in the Preschool year can have most (or all, space permitting) of their sessions at the Preschool based at Overton Primary School.

Report
The Playgroup is within the Community Centre, right in the centre of the village next to the Library. There is a large room, subdivided into different areas for a range of activities, and an extensive outside space, with the children able to move between as they choose throughout the day.
The indoor space includes a home corner, a reading corner used for carpet time and throughout the day, drawing and painting areas, and multiple other islands throughout filled with rotating activities to keep the children engaged and constantly learning something new.The outdoor space includes a permanent sandpit, climbing tower with slide and other play equipment, lots of vehicles, a new mud kitchen undercover and a very popular fire engine.

Activities and visits
Report
As well as the busy days at Playgroup or Preschool, sometimes visitors are arranged to come in and talk to the children, and sometimes the children go out for a visit. It is important for children to learn about the place where they live, and to support this we take small groups out to visit places like the Library, local shops, Fire station, to the postbox if there is a letter to be posted, to see the ducks to the park or even on the bus.
Education
Report
At Overton Preschool Playgroup we monitor your child's progress, planning and supporting your child as they develop at their own pace. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum as a guide to a child's development. Each child has a Learning Journey folder, where their activities, achievement and development is recorded and shared regularly with parents.
