When you come for your eye examination please bring with you any glasses that you wear, the names of any tablets or medicines you are taking and the name of your General Practitioner. During your appointment we will discuss whether you have specific problems with your eyes or vision.
Special demands on your eyes created by work and hobbies may also need to be addressed and we will also want to know about your general health and the health of your family, including if someone in your family has suffered eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts or macula degeneration.

At Paul Harries Opticians we have invested in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) because we believe in using the best, most up-to-date technology to help detect eye conditions as early as possible. Optical Coherence Tomography is a non-invasive technology used for imaging the retina - the multi-layered sensory tissue lining the back of the eye.
Retinal Photography
Report
At Paul Harries Opticians our digital imaging system allows us to keep digital photographic records showing the detail of the both the anterior portion and interior of the eye. This allows a thorough analysis to be undertaken to check everything is normal.
We have a digital camera attached to the Slitlamp Biomicroscope in the consulting room which allows us to record detailed anterior eye images and our digital retinal camera allows us to record detailed images from the back of the eye. These images are then stored as part of your clinical records, enabling a comparison to be made at later follow up visits.
