Lydalls Nursery School
This is an outstanding school. Teaching is outstanding. The quality of the indoor and outdoor learning environment is superb. Children feel secure in the nurturing environment and display an excellent attitude to accessing new learning experiences. At Lydalls we believe that high quality early learning experiences are vital as they lay the foundations for a lifetime's love of learning.

Lydalls Nursery School is a Local Authority maintained nursery school, which has existed on its current site for over 70 years. The current building was opened in 1995 and it was further developed in 2001 to provide Daycare facilities for children aged 2-5. Lydalls Nursery School receives a regular full school Ofsted inspection.

At Lydalls, we believe that the strength of our practice is dependent on the quality of our staff. For this reason all our staff, who work with children, hold relevant Early Years qualifications and take part in regular professional development training.

We have a team of fully qualified Early Years Specialist teachers that include a Headteacher, one full time and one part time teacher who have responsibility for co-ordinating the seven areas of learning across the Nursery.Our full time teacher is our lead teacher who deputises for the head teacher in her absence.

Daily Routine

All three and four year olds attending Lydalls Nursery School receive 15 hours of early education in the morning or afternoon session from Monday to Friday. This is our 'universal' offer for everybody. Every child has a keyperson for these sessions who is responsible for your child's education as well as their well-being.
Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is made up of seven areas of learning that are defined as Prime or Specific areas. The Prime areas of learning and development are fundamental, work together, and begin to develop in response to relationships and experiences. They continue to underpin learning throughout the EYFS.
