Gardner & Wake is a family run business that has been established since 1977, we serve the North East of England. Derek had passion for cars from the age of 12, became a motor mechanic at 15, then turning his hand to all aspects of the garage trade, went on to run service departments and car sales departments before taking the step to start our business in Rowlands Gill in 1977 at the age of 32.
Andy became an apprentice mechanic at the garage in 1991 at the age of 16, his interest and knowledge for cars grew and he became business partner in 2008. Michelle left school with other career plans but fate would soon see her working for the family business. Our garage has been running successfully for over 40 years with our small family team, who all have a passion for cars, and we strive to carry on for many years to come.

Here at Gardner & Wake we aim to provide our customers with a wide range of tyres, from budget to main brand tyres, to ensure safe, trouble free motoring. The Position of your Tyres - front tyres will wear more quickly because of movement in steering. Tyres on drive wheels will also wear faster. The Pressure or you Tyres - under inflation or over inflation can both affect the wear of your tyres.

Warning lights can illuminate on your dashboard, an engine diagnostics check can help to identify the problem. Most modern vehicles today contain an ECU (on-board computer) which continually monitors the performance of the vehicle. When a problem is identified the ECU logs an error code. The dashboard warning light relevant to this issue will be illuminated.
Timing Belt Change

Your Timing Belt or Chain is responsible for synchronising the rotation of the crankshaft and camshafts, which enable the valves and pistons to move correctly. We offer Timing Belt replacement. Unfortunately, there are no obvious signs that the timing belt is near the end of life; it will just break.
