A few times I've been now and a similar experience, friendly staff, nice beers but food is generally way too expensive for what it is. eg ordered 2 ox meat and blue cheese croquettes for 7, what turned up was 2 tiny inch long crispy things, almost one mouthful each. They were not even that tasty
Did get a roast there not too long ago there which was nice! Still don't accept cash, which is strange

We had our Christmas party at the Home co
Cottage the other night and couldn't be happier! Food was lovely (not a dry piece of turkey in sight) service was excellent and of course the atmosphere in this pub is wonderful in general. Beautiful place and we all had a great time. Good selection of beers& ciders as well and a few interesting cocktails! Would definitely go again.

Visited for first time recently for a Sunday roast, decent food, well cooked, very friendly staff, and most importantly for us they're happy to allow the dog in too (I think only in the bar area for food though). Will be back to check out the rest of the menu

Not my favourite pub, fat too pretentious and generally unwelcoming. Nice interior and good selection of craft ales and spirits. Nice outdoor heated seating space. We had the burger which was nice if unremarkable. Plate was sparse with the burger one side and the little tin of fries the other, perhaps a smaller plate would have disguised this better or maybe some slaw or salad? I don't think it's the staff that are the issue (for me) it's 'the regulars' most appear self-important, commuter-loving twits! But that's just me!
