Ardmaddy Castle
We are fully up and running again, and extremely grateful that we are well booked for the remainder of this season! We thank our regular visitors for their loyalty and confidence, and to our new visitors, too. Whilst our cleaning routine and standards were already robust, we have put extra measures into place in order to minimise any risk to both our staff and visitors - information regarding this will be sent out prior to your visit.

Ardmaddy Estate sits in a quiet, gentle corner of Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Whilst within half an hour of the harbour town of Oban and only three hours from Glasgow, once there, you feel as though you are in a different time and space to the rest of the world. Its quiet tranquility and the utter peace soothes the soul and rest the senses.

Cottages Overview
Report
When you arrive at Ardmaddy Estate, the first things that strike you are the beauty, serenity and peace. At the end of a quiet road lies an opportunity to relax in stunning surroundings and leave the everyday world behind. Your days can be spent walking, cycling, sailing, exploring, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, or simply just resting - Ardmaddy is simply perfect for all of these.
Forest Cottage
Report
With a southerly aspect this light and spacious single-storey cottage nestles just below the castle and overlooks a grazing field leading to Ardmaddy Bay and beyond to offshore islands. With all day sun and full central heating, Forest Cottage is bright and warm! The large entrance porch, with shower and toilet off, leads into a spacious modern kitchen with dining area.
Craiguillean
Report
Craiguillean has the most glorious location on the water's edge at the end of a half mile car-track entirely secluded. It looks west and north over to the island of Seil, and south to the islands of Luing, Shuna and Scarba. It has its own jetty and mooring so it's a great place to have one of our hire boats or bring your kayak, and a great place to look out for sea eagles, the regular otters and visiting dolphins or even the occasional whale.
Stables
Report
As the name suggests, this house was the original stable block for nearby Caddleton farmhouse and this sensitive conversion now provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to eight people. Recently refurbished, the house is modern and comfortable whilst still retaining much of its traditional character and warmth.
