Services
Garden Design
Urban Tropics specialises in creating contemporary, tropical, and exotic garden designs tailored to individual client needs. Our process begins with an on-site consultation to understand your vision and budget. We produce realistic design visuals to help you visualise the final outcome, ensuring transparency and confidence in your decision. These visuals are combined with detailed plans and costings, allowing for informed project planning. Our team oversees every stage, from concept to completion, guaranteeing precision in implementation.
Landscaping
Our landscaping services encompass both hard and soft elements, forming the backbone of any garden transformation. Hard landscaping includes boundary walls, hardwood decking, patios, and water features, crafted by master craftsmen. Soft landscaping involves planting schemes using high-quality trees and plants selected for their resilience and aesthetic appeal. We work with bespoke nurseries to source unique specimens, ensuring every project meets exacting standards. All work is supervised by dedicated project managers to maintain quality throughout the build process.
Lighting Design
Garden lighting enhances usability and ambiance after dark, forming an integral part of our design philosophy. We use energy-efficient LED systems installed by qualified electricians to ensure safety and longevity. Our approach focuses on subtle illumination of architectural plants and features, avoiding overly bright or intrusive fixtures. Uplighters highlight key elements like palm trees and olive groves, while discreet mood lighting creates a tranquil atmosphere. This balance ensures gardens remain inviting and functional during evening hours.
Irrigation Systems
London Irrigation, a division of Urban Tropics, installs automated micro-irrigation systems for gardens and roof terraces. These systems deliver precise water quantities to trees, shrubs, and container plants, promoting healthy growth during dry periods. The technology is particularly beneficial for urban spaces where manual watering may be impractical. Systems are designed for ease of use and efficiency, ensuring optimal hydration without waste. This service is available to both private and commercial clients across London and the Home Counties.
Roof Gardens
We design and build roof gardens that transform underutilised urban spaces into lush retreats. Our expertise includes structural assessments, waterproofing, and selecting plants suited to rooftop conditions. Projects incorporate durable materials and efficient irrigation to withstand exposure. Designs prioritise privacy and low maintenance, using architectural plants and hard landscaping elements. Each roof garden is tailored to the building's microclimate, ensuring longevity and resilience. Clients benefit from a seamless process, from initial concept to final landscaping.

This is the second time I have used this company and on both ocassions my wife and I have found them not only to be friendly and professional but they approached both of our projects with a fantastically artistic flair. I have recommended them on various occasions and look forward to meeting them again on our next project. Highly recommended.

This company transformed our boring suburban garden into what has now become the envy of our friends and neighbours! My upbringing was in tropical Brazil and looking out of our kitchen window now reminds me of back home. I cant thank Peter and his team enough.

Without Urban Tropics we would still have a garden of just grass. Since they transformed our garden into a beautiful painting it has become the most used area of our home. Thank you for delivering your vision of beauty whilst giving a 5 star service. 100% recommend
