Holdgate Consulting Engineers was founded in 1986 by Ian Holdgate. The head office operates from a converted 17th century farmhouse and barn in Bingley, West Yorkshire. With easy access to Leeds and Bradford, a significant proportion of all the work undertaken by our structural engineers is for domestic clients, and small projects are welcome.
Residential and Surveys

We provide a rapid and cost-effective response to domestic clients. Our streamlined approach includes free quotations via telephone or email, and where possible, domestic survey and report completion within two working days of inspection. We have many years' experience in domestic design, completing over 500 domestic projects a year.
Commercial and Industrial

Holdgate Consulting Engineers can provide a comprehensive survey and report service on all forms of commercial premises, including shop units, office blocks, industrial developments and department stores. Surveys are designed to safeguard and inform prospective purchasers, including 'fully repairing lease' buyers.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking to employ an infrastructure engineer to assist in dealing with a wide range of sectors including housing, retail and industrial. These projects are largely based in Yorkshire but occasionally includes sites across the UK.
You should possess a relevant degree in Civil engineering with capability to work independently or within a team and successfully communicate with clients, contractors and other engineers.In addition, you will have experience in designing sites from inception to completion and familiar with relevant design software.

Our head office is based in Bingley, West Yorkshire with easy access to the North of England including Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and Manchester. Our satellite office is based in Poole, Dorset with easy access to much of the South Coast including Bournemouth, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood and the New Forest.
