Our History

The name Canllefaes (pronounced KAN-KLEV-ICE) is derived from Cant Llevas or Cant Llevarvas which, we are told, is translated as "The hundred cries on the field" - a battle or war cry. In 1136 The Welsh led by Gruffydd ap Rhys ap Tewdwr defeated the Normans at the battle of Crug Mawr here at Penparc, The Normans fled back to Pembrokeshire across the old wooden bridge at Cardigan in such numbers that they caused it to collapse.

The perfect base for a family holiday, exploring the Cardigan Bay area. The large hot tub can accommodate everyone and can be enjoyed at all times of the year. Wheel has beautiful views of the neighboring fields and is right next to the kid's play area. This stand-alone cottage has everything you need.

For all our guests, there is access to a large heated outdoor swimming pool onsite. This is a great addition to your holiday, providing much fun and entertainment for all. The pool will be open from the beginning of May until the end of September (dates of pool opening may vary slightly according to the weather).

Ceredigion is the perfect place to explore beaches and coves from the coastal path with your pooch. From taking in the stunning hilltop views and exploring the woodland and riverside trails there is so much to do.
