The Wooden Horse is a firmly established, purpose built nursery offering private and funded places for all children from Birth - 8 years of age. Owned and managed by a qualified teacher with over twenty years experience in Early Years Education. We provide a safe, stimulating, caring environment for your child.
The outside area is used as an extension of the inside and many activities are used outside such as the dressing up, role play and small world. The children have loose parts construction, a sand pit (within a beach hut), a vegetable patch and we have nursey rabbits and guinea pigs for the children to help look after.

Baby Room 0-2 years

Our babies participate in many activities as we cater for a variety of development levels. Activities are set out to encourage a child's interest, through play your child will be introduced to colours, shapes, sorting, counting and develop their gross motor skills. All children participate in song and story time as well as sensory activities.
Tweenie Room 2-3 years

Activities are set out to encourage a child's interest and all equipment is stored at the child's level so they can add toys to extend their play. Through play your child will be introduced to colours, shapes, sorting, counting and hand control. Throughout the day staff supervise and interact with the children; promoting their learning and development whilst encouraging their independence and individual thoughts, ideas and opinions.
Pre School

Our preschool group is run by fully qualified, experienced staff. The children learn independence and life-skills through using everyday tools often scaled down for little hands and statures. Real-life skills such as sweeping, pouring, setting a table, or dressing help children develop large motor skills, balance, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, independence, confidence, and much more.
