I've been a qualified architect for over 10 years, since I finished my 7 years of architectural training at the university of Sheffield. Before starting MAD I worked at a large commercial practice, in Sheffield and worked on a range of projects, for clients including the Home Office, Suzuki, Westfield shopping centres & developers Wilson Bowden.
During this time I gained invaluable experience, including working on highly sustainable buildings such as the first BREEAM excellent office in Sheffield. MAD architects was born out of my desire to work more collaboratively with clients, on design led, bespoke 'environmentally friendly' projects. Initially, whilst still working at a large commercial firm, I started the practice with help of an old university friend.

MAD Houses
Report
We know it is a little daunting, even scary, but that's OK, we've done this before. We have a proven professional process that will see your project develop from a hand drawn sketch right through to something wonderful. We will normally visit the proposed project with you, enabling us to introduce ourselves and run through the normal process of undertaking a project, the legislation involved and likely timescales.
Project: Northern Common, Dronfield
Report
MAD were appointed following the client acquiring an existing property, with an intention of redeveloping the site. Our client has lived in the area for the majority of her life, and wanted to stay in the area but was finding her current traditional house too large for her needs providing increasing mobility issues.
Project: The Trumpeter Chesterfield
Report
MAD architects are currently working on a scheme to redevelop the site of the Trumpeter as a new local centre for the Grangewood estate. Whilst many public house are being converted into convenience stores with the loss of social amenities for local communities, we are working with our client to undertake a complete redevelopment of the site to provide much needed facilities, whilst providing a new cafe/ bar for community.
Project: Ashover Road, Chesterfield
Report
The clients had a clear vision to transform this house into a throughly modern, light & open plan home. Internally the existing property has been completely reconfigured, including relocating the staircase to create a larger entrance hallway, with a double height gallery space allowing light deep into the heart of the property.
