Questions

What safety measures do you implement during newborn sessions?

All sessions follow BANPAS safety guidelines with constant hands-on supervision. Poses avoid strain or discomfort, using specialist equipment and spotters. Emergency protocols ensure baby's wellbeing throughout.

How should we prepare for a newborn photography session?

Feed baby thoroughly beforehand and allow 2-3 hours for the session. Bring extra nappies, wipes and comfort items. We provide all props and styling accessories for the shoot.

What is included in your photography packages?

Packages include studio time, professional editing, and high-resolution digital images. Optional print products and bespoke framing available. Custom packages accommodate specific session requirements and budgets.

Do you offer outdoor photography options?

While we specialize in controlled studio environments for newborn safety, we can arrange location shoots for older babies and families with appropriate risk assessments and equipment.

How do you handle difficult baby temperaments during sessions?

We work at baby's pace with flexible scheduling. Breaks for feeding and settling are accommodated. Experience allows us to adapt techniques to soothe and engage babies for optimal results.

We recently did the bump to birthday package with Claire (having done a crawling shoot a few years ago) and it was such a lovely experience and we have so many beautiful images. I will look back over my babys first year and remember our sessions with Claire as little milestones/sanity moments breaking up the year. As well as being so talented, Claire is lovely to spend time with and was so patient with us all no matter how frazzled we all were (we are a family of 5 so fairly high maintenance customers)! At the end of the year we have many perfect and special images that really captured the spirit

My first trip out with my newborn at 9 days old and Im not going to lie I very nearly cancelled as not sure I was up to it. Im so glad I didnt. Claire just gets it! Id even go as far to say I thoroughly enjoyed it as a result! Claire immediately puts you at ease and her homely studio is spot; warm and cosy with coffee, tea and cakes on tap too but most importantly a sofa for you to actually relax (lay down and sleep if you want to!) on. Claire is an absolute natural with babies, Id go as far to say a baby whisperer and really gives her undivided attention so nothing feels rushed

We visited Claire Walder Photography in July 2019 to get photos of our 2 week old son Caspar. I cannot recommend Claire more highly. She was extremely patient throughout, even though it took approx. 5 hours to get our son relaxed enough to get the perfect shots!
Claire is welcoming and provided us with plenty of drinks/snacks and make the whole experience a really positive one for us. The photos we have received are just brilliant! We will definitely be using Claire again to capture our little Caspar as he grows!

Claire did a newborn session for our 9 day old. The photos are absolutely stunning, we couldnt be happier with them. Her studio is warm, cosy and relaxing, and there are no time pressures. Babies are unpredictable but she takes as long as your baby needs - she is magical at getting them relaxed and sleepy! Highly recommended.
