St Joseph's Primary School

Founded in 1969, St Joseph's Primary School has been serving the Upper Killeavy community for over 50 years with a commitment to Catholic values and academic excellence. Our school fosters a nurturing environment where every child is empowered to reach their full potential through personalized learning experiences and a balanced curriculum. We prioritize emotional wellbeing through our BWDW program while maintaining strong partnerships with parents and the local community. Our dedicated staff creates engaging, interdisciplinary lessons that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. We emphasize character development, respect, and kindness through initiatives like our Primary 4 Kindness Assembly and student leadership programs.

Our facilities include innovative learning spaces like the Fairy Glen outdoor classroom and technology-integrated resources like Mathletics and Purple Mash. We prepare students for future success through annual prize giving ceremonies and our 'Never Give Up' ethos that cultivates resilience. Our school's location in the Slieve Gullion area provides unique opportunities for environmental education and community engagement. We maintain transparency through regular communication channels including parent newsletters, online portals, and community events. Our continuous improvement is demonstrated through our 50th anniversary celebrations and ongoing curriculum enhancements.
