We are able to provide our patients with a high standard of care enhanced by the use of good quality materials, whether this treatment involves restorations (fillings) or periodontal (gum) treatment provided by our fully qualified dental hygienist.
Services
Visiting a Dental Hygienist
Report
Dental hygienists are specially trained to work with the dentist to give care to patients. They play an important part in dental health care and are mainly concerned with preventive dental health and treating gum disease - showing you correct home care and helping to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
Crowns
Report
A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a 'cap'. Crowns are an ideal way to repair teeth that have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling.
Gum Disease
Report
Gum disease is described as swelling, soreness or infection of the tissues supporting the teeth. There are two main forms of gum disease: gingivitis and periodontal disease. Long-standing gingivitis can turn into periodontal disease. There are a number of types of periodontal disease and they all affect the tissues supporting the teeth.
Root Canal Treatment
Report
Root canal treatment (also called 'endodontics') is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (called the 'pulp') is infected through decay or injury. You may not feel any pain in the early stages of the infection. In some cases your tooth could darken in colour, which may mean that the nerve of the tooth has died (or is dying).
Cosmetic dentistry
Report
Dentistry is no longer just a case of filling and taking out teeth. Nowadays many people turn to cosmetic dentistry, or 'aesthetic dentistry', as a way of improving their appearance. They do this in the same way they might use cosmetic surgery or even a new hairstyle. The treatments can be used to straighten, lighten, reshape and repair teeth.
