Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery

Established in 1991 by Gill Smith, Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery has grown from a small room at Camborne School to a purpose-built facility serving 191 children with 49 dedicated staff members. Our team comprises Early Years Practitioners, Teachers, and Nursery Nurses, many of whom are pursuing advanced qualifications to maintain the highest standards of care. We focus on nurturing independence through structured activities, meals, and physical development, while fostering communication with parents via daily feedback and the ClassDojo app. Our nursery operates year-round, offering flexible hours and tailored support for children with special educational needs in collaboration with external professionals. Accredited by Ofsted with a 'Good' rating, we prioritise safety, inclusivity, and holistic development in a purpose-designed environment.

In 1998, we relocated to Rosemellin Community Primary School following funding from multiple initiatives, ensuring continued growth and accessibility for local families. Our approach combines play-based learning with practical life skills, preparing children for future educational stages. Staff undergo continuous training to implement innovative methods, such as sensory development tools and adaptive learning resources. We maintain strong community ties through partnerships with local schools and family hubs, ensuring alignment with regional educational priorities.
