Hopkin Murray Beskine was established by Barbara Hopkin, Valerie Murray and Sarah Beskine in 1993. We have continued to grow since and now have four directors and a team of solicitors and support staff. The directors are Sarah Beskine (founding partner) and Lesley Curtis (who became a partner in 2006) together with Rebekah Carrier and Ann Bevington.

Our firm is recommended in the Legal 500 guide and our housing team is recommended in the Chambers UK guide. Our solicitors are also recommended in the Good Lawyer Guide. Our family team is praised in the Legal 500 2021 guide for being "hugely knowledgeable and extremely skilled" and for offering "great service at realistic fee levels".

Sarah Beskine

Sarah Beskine, one of the founding partners of Hopkin Murray Beskine, qualified as a solicitor in 1989. She has extensive experience in all fields of family law. Sarah acts for clients in divorce, and for separating partners including civil partnerships. She advises and represents on all aspects of financial disputes, and disagreements regarding the future care of children, following the breakdown of a relationship.
Barbara Hopkin

Barbara Hopkin was one of the founding partners of Hopkin Murray Beskine and is now a consultant at the firm. She has been a solicitor for 30 years and a long term member of the specialist Children Panel. Her expertise is primarily representing children or their parents in care proceedings brought by social services.
Lesley Curtis

Lesley Curtis is a director of Hopkin Murray Beskine and a solicitor dealing with all aspects of housing and related social welfare law. She qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and specialises in housing and public law. Lesley has a particular interest in disrepair and property litigation. She is developing the commercial department and also represents landlords in connection with both commercial and residential property.
