The history of our Animal Clinic goes back to 1982 when the building was acquired by McBride, Gribbon & McAuley Veterinary. Twice renovated since then, Firmount Veterinary Clinic as its now known, houses our clinic reception, back office, a welcoming waiting room, 2 consulting rooms, a preparation room, a theatre / x-ray room, kennels and a large animal pharmacy since 1991.
Our sense of consistency is also reflected in our team with Dr Brian McAuley, Dr. John Lavery and Practice Manager Patricia Shields who have been heading our extensive team since the early days. Since we opened the doors to our clinic for the first time nearly 25 years ago, we have striven for the best medical and health care for our patients who include companion animals, equine and farm animals.

Andi Davidson - Pet OwnerI have no words, my kitten Ciara was in a bad way, I thought her time was up as she had never been well, but john took a look, said it wasn't good but he wouldn't give up on her as she was too pretty lol! Well after 4 nights intensive treatment I brought Ciara home, a different kitten, happier and healthier than I have ever seen, john, vets and staff did something amazing for her and I will be forever grateful, I can honestly say they worked a miracle, thanks guys, you rock!

I have been to a few vets over the years and settled with Firmount 3 years ago when I got my golden retriever spayed. There’s a homely feel to the practice and staff are lovely. They go the extra mile with their genuine interest and care of your pet. Vets and nurses have all been fantastic and the reception staff are wonderful. They all seem to get on as a big family, it’s very warm environment to walk into. Not clinical at all. Vets are dear places but I have found Firmount to be less expensive than previously used vets.
I had a most recent experience with my sick kitten and was in the practice
