Think of soft, rounded chalk hills, watercress farms, thatched cottages and a trout stream running through it. Add in crisp white sheets, fluffy towels, free wi-fi everywhere and officially the best pub food in Dorset (two Good Pub Guide Awards) and you get the perfect English pub with rooms. And all in Dorset's loveliest village.
This is 'real' England. Sydling St Nicholas is recorded in William the Conqueror's Domesday Book written in 1086. A collection of pastel painted houses built from flint and stone, it lies in a valley a mile off the main A37 Dorchester to Yeovil road and every route in to our village is chocolate box pretty.

Forget gastropubs, the Greyhound just does proper fresh food that changes every day, a good wine list, hearty breakfasts and our choice of real ales and lagers. The only thing that's frozen at the Greyhound is the ice cream! The Greyhound sources from local producers which represent the best of British food.
Rooms
Report
The six bedrooms in our old coaching block across the car park are of differing size but include two big enough for family rooms. If there are more than two staying we can supply good z beds for the room. Three of our rooms are dog friendly too! Our rooms come in two sizes. The standard doubles are 120 per night, our small double is 105 per night and our small twin is 110 per night.
