Brook House Nursery was opened in 1991 and is situated in a large family house with a purpose built extension. Our learning ethos is child centered and overall our aim is to build children's confidence and encourage them to develop skills and creativity by experimentation. With increased confidence, children are able to tackle new experiences and ask questions without fear of judgment.
We feel this provides them with personal strengths which will be valuable not only when they begin Primary school but also as a continuing life skill. Their development is improved by providing them with a wide range of experiences and media. Children are able to explore things which are important to themselves.

Our Facilities

Each room in our nursery has access to a shared garden and the preschool room has an additional garden for the older children exclusively. Children are encouraged to play outside each day.
Learning
Report
The aim of our curriculum is to equip children with the skills and knowledge they need to explore and understand the world around them. We believe that children grown and develop when thry have access to a well thought out learning environment, engaged adults, and the freedom to play, experiment, question, observe and discuss.
Extra Activities
Report
Our fully-qualified dance teacher, Rachel, takes children over two [at no extra cost] for a dancing lesson on Monday mornings. The children are divided into two groups. Younger children's lessons are geared towards enjoyment and fun, whilst the emphasis for the older children is on rhythm, imagination and learning to work within a group.
