We operate from sites in Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea, covering an area stretching from the Mendips to the Quantocks and from the Bristol Channel out across the Somerset Levels. Blake Vets can trace its roots back to around 1895 and originally had its premises in Bridgwater town centre before moving to its current purpose-built surgery on Showground Road, just off Taunton Road in 2004.

We have an experienced team of vets and modern facilities which include a full range of clinical services. Our out-of-hours service is located at our Bridgwater surgery. Being conveniently located just 2 minutes from Junction 24 of the M5, it is central to the practice catchment area with most clients no more than a 20-minute drive away.

As you are probably aware, Castle Vets and Blake Vets have been part of the much larger IVC Evidensia organisation since 2019. As a result of the recent retirement of Jaan Bartels from Castle Vets, both Castle Vets and Blake Vets are now being managed by Blake Vets Group, with all out of hour's emergencies being handled at the Showground Road surgery.

If your insurer asks you to complete your claim online, what we need from you will be greatly simplified. Please note the process may differ between insurers. Attach the clinical history, along with a copy of any payments you've made (you do not have to keep any receipts). Please note the processing of direct claims is discretionary and based on the relationship between the insurer and the clinic.
